Elk Hunting Information

Elk Springs Outfitters has an outfitter allotment of tags available for the unit we hunt, so we are able to garauntee tags. For those who do not use an outfitter in our unit Idaho offers elk hunting tags on a first come first serve basis. We recommend you book early to secure your elk hunt.

Guided Idaho Elk Hunt Includes:

  • Elk-Deer Combination
  • 2:1 or 1:1 guided hunt
  • Game retrieval to processor
  • Fully equipped tent camp
  • Three hearty meals a day
  • Transportation to camp from Big Creek trailhead and back

  • Two elk hunters with one guide, 8 day trip
    $5,500.00 per hunter
  • One elk hunter with one guide, 7 day trip
    $6,000.00
  • Two mule deer hunters with one guide, 8 day trip
    $4,500.00.
  • One mule deer hunter with one guide, 7 day trip
    $4,500.00.

Terms
A deposit of $1000 will reserve your hunt date. 1⁄2 the remaining balance is due May 1.
The remaining balance is due August 1.

Additional Costs
Additional costs include:

  • Transportation from your place of departure to and from Big Creek, Idaho. If you are not driving, most people will take a commercial flight to Boise then a charter flight from there to Big Creek. We have a charter service we recommend for such flights.
  • Processing fee on all game.
  • License and tags, Fees change from year to year, as of 2011 the prices are as follows:
    Regular Non Resident Hunting License $154.75 (Hunting lic. Required), Elk Tag Fee $416.75, Deer Tag Fee $301.75, Bear Tag Fee $31.75, Mt. Lion Tag Fee $31.75.
  • Taxidermist fee (optional).
  • All gratuities for cooks, wranglers, guides.
    Elk Springs Outfitters is licensed by the Board of Outfitters. We comply with all game laws set by the Idaho Fish and Game Department.

Please find the suggested items below to bring on your hunt with us. Please be advised this is only a guideline to follow assuring your comfort and safety while on your hunt. We would also like to inform you that limiting your gear weight is essential on this trip, as we will be packing all gear on mules into camp. Please do not bring excess of these items. We are looking forward to seeing you this fall.
