There is nothing more rugged and awesome than Idaho’s backcountry in the dead of winter, a perfect time to experience an epic hunt for one of the most elusive and sought after western trophies. These can be very physically demanding hunts in some very rough country. Inclimate conditions are the norm and can both make things easier and more difficult. Although when hunting with us it is not vital, fresh snow can be a huge advantage for cutting tracks. At the same time snow can make it difficult for you to traverse this mountainous country. The better shape you are in the better your odds. The thrill of the chase and the cry of the hounds are some of the most rewarding and memorable aspects of any western hunt you could ask for. Something any hunter willing and able should experience at least once in their lifetime. When hunting free range nothing is guaranteed, but most of our lion hunts have very near 100% success. We do some of the hunts ourselves as well as can hook you up with a few select reputable houndsman and top lion outfitters in Idaho. Our goal is for you to have an awesome Idaho experience. This is a hunt not for the faint of heart. This backpack hunt takes place in the dead of winter. Winter expedition gear and being in top physical condition is a must. We cover a lot of rugged country every day on foot with our camp on our backs. We will be hunting lions that have basically never been hunted because of the location of their home range. These areas are inaccessible to livestock and motorized vehicle during the winter months. Give us a call for more info.
